1. Seeing "Bo Diddley" on the cue card, he thought he was to perform both his self-titled hit single and "Sixteen Tons". Sullivan was furious and banned Diddley from his show, reputedly saying that he wouldn't last six months. Chess Records included Diddley's cover of "Sixteen Tons" on the album Bo Diddley Is a Gunslinger.

2. Bo Diddley Daddy. This is Rock and Roll and its rockinist. The recordings are from the old Chess Records masters from the 's and 60's. This is the roots of rock and roll but, make no mistake, it is rough, rowdy, and bluesy R&R--the real thing.

5. The other problem is that, like so many other originators of rock and roll, Diddley ignored Bob Dylan. So there is really no lyrical progress from "Bo Diddley" to "Bo Diddley ". Though this is a great set, most people are better off getting His Best, which focuses mostly on his earlier music.
