Axl Rosenberg of MetalSucks wrote of Idjit Savant that it is "one of the best pop-punk albums of all time", superior to American Idiot. He also noted that it was recorded during a time of dour grunge and angry nu metal music, and called the Dickies album possibly "the feel good album of the 90’s".

Idjit Savant is one of those for me. It's difficult to pick a favorite Dickies album, but Savant wins by a hair. This is probably due to the fact that it's the first Dickies album I ever heard. Back in the days of impulse purchases-I miss those days. Savant shows that the Dickies have aged like a fine wine.

Second Coming is the comeback album, and fourth studio album overall, by punk band The Dickies. By , the Dickies' brand of tongue-in-cheek, poppy punk was largely out of fashion, but the later success of bands like Green Day and the Queers make it 3/5(2).
